Pastor Wes — Encouraging Real Faith and a Meaningful Relationship with Jesus at Every Stage of Life
Pastor Wes joyfully serves the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He loves being close to family, where he raised his sons in this charming community!
He first came to faith in Jesus as a young child. As a young adult, he drifted away from his faith, but after having three sons, he returned to church with the desire to raise them in faith. In early 2009, he had a powerful encounter with Jesus and heard God speak clearly that he and his family would walk in faith together.
While in Bible college, Pastor Wes felt called into ministry and served as a youth pastor in Denton, MD, eventually becoming an Assistant Pastor at Mid Shore Community Church in Easton, Maryland. After earning his Master of Divinity, he pursued Clinical Pastoral Education with Frederick Health and the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP). He was assigned to hospice care while becoming a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) and earning his Hospice and Palliative Care Certification (HPC). He found that many dedicated Christians, even in their final moments, faced challenges in prayer and grappled with their faith with uncertainty. This experience revealed his calling: to help people develop a real prayer life rooted in Scripture, guided by the Holy Spirit, and centered on a deeper relationship with Jesus.
Pastor Wes has been serving as a hospice chaplain for the last four years. Now serving here on the shore, he loves listening to patients and families share their life stories and seeing how God has been faithful through every season. He finds great joy in helping families reconcile with one another and supporting them as they restore and strengthen their faith during life’s most difficult moments.
Giving back to the CPSP organization that prepared him for ministry has been an honor as he passionately mentors fellow chaplains as the Kent Island Chapter Convener for the CPSP, guiding aspiring chaplains in their journey towards board certification and successful job placement with enthusiasm and dedication.
The Lord has given Pastor Wes a vision to plant a church on the Eastern Shore — a welcoming community where people at every stage of faith can grow in their relationship with Jesus, support one another as a family in Christ, and share His love with others. Pastor Wes is deeply dedicated to applying the spiritual care skills he learned through pastoring and chaplaincy to support people as they grow in their faith.
